This medium sized tree has an attractive white trunk with a rounded crown and makes a great addition to any small or formal garden. The leaves are prone to clipping and can be tamed quite easily if the formal garden is preferred. The Cape Holly is evergreen and has fragrant, sweetly scented flowers which are followed by scarlet red berries in early Autumn to Winter. These berries attract an array of birds to the garden. For those who prefer not to have the berries, you’re in luck, as this tree consists of male and female species and only the female produces the fruit. The species is also typically selected for a hedging project due to the dense green foliage.
