This kid-friendly evergreen tree is perfectly suited for a treehouse and monkey climbing antics. Its berries are edible and the dense canopy provides a great amount of shade for those hot summer days. A splash of coral colour can be seen on the leaves when the new growth emerges. This tree is also popular to plant as street trees due to its ability to withstand harsh growing conditions such as bad soil and pollution. It is often confused with the Cape Ash (Ekebergia capensis) but can be distinguished by looking at the growth form and formation of the leaves. Typically grows to 12 metres with a crown of 5 metres.
