This tree is iconic to your historical graveyards and therefore referred to as the Graveyard or Pencil Cypress. The upright nature of the tree has a striking architectural feature when planted against bright white walls as they usually complement each other quite well. Often selected by landscapers to be planted along an avenue or driveway or as a hedge or a screen to provide privacy. The tree’s shape does well for a formal garden layout. It is a conifer and produces quite attractive cones. It is very slow growing so you have to buy them big if you want to still enjoy them in your lifetime!
