The Silver Birch lives up to its name, being chosen primarily for the beautiful silvery bark that really stands out in winter when the leaves drop and the entire trunk is revealed. It has a weeping nature and silvery green foliage. Its leaves change from green to gold in autumn which makes it a lovely tree for year-round interest. Most often planted in clusters to create a woodland garden effect but can also do well as a single feature tree in the garden. The tree prefers a cooler climate so it’s best to plant it in a more shady part of the garden or in clusters where the trees can provide each other with shade.
