The charity has opened its very own doggie crèche / doggy day care. Autistic, high functioning young adults from Iris House are taught how to interact with the dogs and puppies, assist with play time, keep water bowls full, give great brushes and enjoy the company of mans best friend. Each “employee” will also receive monthly renumeration, in the form of a stipend for their hard work. Providing them with purpose, stimulation, companionship and a feeling of self worth.
They approached us for a large tree that can provide a good amount of shade all year long. We were so touched by the love and care they are providing to families in need, that we supplied, delivered and planted a 1000-litre Trichilea emetica (Natal Mahogany) tree for free.
We truly hope this will bring a sense of calm to the space they have created and that many more trees will sprout from these strong roots.
